Pictures of the Nassau Veteranīs Memorial Coliseums The "beautiful" Coliseum from the outside two hours prior to a game.
Another outside-shot of the building. The narrow main concourse.
The box-office at the Nassau Veteranīs Memorial Colisseum, actually I am the one at the window in the front just half an hour prior to an home-game vs the Boston Bruins in 1997. The Islanders won the game 8:2 and Zigmund Pallfy scored a hattrick...
View from the upper level during a game vs the Toronto Maple Leafs in which Curtis Joseph truelly stole the show and the game for the Leafs who were masters of mediocrity this night. Of course the Islanders were also a bad team in 1998 and it is true that good teams find ways to win while bad teams always invent new ways to loose (final score 1:2).
New screens installed at the arena after I had been there (picture provided by www.daktronics.com).
The retired numbers under the roof of the Coliseum.
The Islanders score! (3:0 vs the New York Rangers in the end). The New York Times wrote
that Manny Malholtra had officially become a true Ranger the next day: he got one of the
spare scoring-chances and then put it wide just as the whole team did all
season....(1998/1999). |
